About the Book:- A word of appreciation Books are the basis. Purity is the force. Preaching is the essence. Utility is the principle. Śrila Prabhupada said that his translations of the Vedic literatures would be the law books for society during the next 10,000 years. How can I properly describe the true glory of the literature that Śrila Prabhupada left us?

We are chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna, Hare Hare/ Hare Rama, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare only by the mercy of Śri Caitanya Mahaprabhu, and indeed, this Krishna consciousness movement is His creation. How can I properly describe the importance of reading Srila Prabhupada's translation and commentary on Kṛṣṇadāsa Kaviraja's Śrī Caitanya Charitamrita?

Chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa is very easy to do. Even a child can chant Hare Kṛṣṇa. However, reading the 17 volumes of Sri Caitanya Charitamrita is not so easy. This is the dilemma. On the one hand, every devotee should repeatedly hear the pastimes of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. On the other hand, if one is not educated and accustomed to study, or if one is very busy, then it may be difficult to do this.

Here is a solution. This summary study of Śri Caitanya Charitamrita provides the reader with a full narration of the pastimes described in that great literature, as well as the most prominent lessons from the commentary. Of course, for those who are accustomed to reading Śrila Prabhupada's translation and commentary, there is no necessity for reading this volume. But, for those who are not so accustomed, I heartily recommend the reading of this book. Indeed, it is hoped that the readers of this single volume will gradually aspire to study carefully Śrila Prabhupada's work.

Purnaprajna dāsa wrote this summary as a tool for his study, and not at all with the intention of printing it. However, seeing the great number of new devotees and desiring to help them to taste the nectar of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu's pastimes, he has decided to print this summary study as an offering to his spiritual master. It is my sincere hope that Srila Prabhupada is pleased with his endeavor.
